This was about the best concert I have been to!!

Just this past Saturday, September 28, 2002, my twin sister and I went to Billy Bob's Texas in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, to see our favorite country singer, Loretta Lynn, in concert.

It was a concert to behold. A sell out crowd. Many eager and anticipated faces, all with one goal in mind..waiting to see Loretta Lynn perform. (Most had been at Billy Bob's Texas last February, when Loretta became ill one half hour before she was to go on; and as a result, had to cancel. This included both Karla, my twin sister, and myself.)

At ten thirty, right on the dot, the show began. Loretta was in fine shape, and she came out (on the side where we were standing, and of course, the cheers erupted); but when she stepped onto that stage, the entire concert hall erupted into spontanious cheers and applause. Loretta went right into her first song, "Hey, Loretta", and she didn't disappoint. She sang a lot of her hits, with her signature song, "Coal Miner's Daughter", saved for last. The entire audience was at her command, and they cheered lustily during each and every song she did, even when she (inadvertantly) forgot the words to one of her songs!! But Loretta acted like the trouper she is, and instead of getting upset about it, she went right into another song, and apologized good naturedly. She sounded in fine form; her voice rang strong and true throughout the entire time she was on stage. By the end of the show, the audience was on its feet, begging and screaming for more!!

Loretta wore a black pants and jacket combination over a black-and-turqoise western shirt and western boots. She really looked great!!

She was on stage for almost 2 hours. That is amazing because Loretta Lynn is not that young anymore: she is 67 years old. A senior citizen. She has been doing this, entertaining her fans the world over, for an incredible 40 years this year, and she still knows how to deliver the goods. She is one of the nicest and most gracious performers around today, and she obviously lives to please her many fans. And please us at Billy Bob's, she did..in a BIG way!

This isn't the first time I have seen Loretta Lynn in concert: Saturday, September 28, 2002, marked my 6th Loretta Lynn concert--and Karla's 7th. But each time we have NOT been disappointed; Loretta Lynn puts on one hell of a great show; and if you like your music done "country style", you WON'T be disappointed if you see Loretta Lynn in concert!! This lady delivers the goods in a BIG WAY!!!! She is FANTASTIC!!!!!

And a nicer person you could ever hope to meet!! Loretta may be a superstar in country music, but she is such a sweetheart, and we enjoy talking to her; she makes us laugh!!

SO wish I was with you!! I love country music, and no one sang it better than Loretta. She knew whereof she sang!! Nothing like poverty and heartbreak for creating music [be it sung or written on a page] that turns you inside out. . .mostly in a good way :) :_ :).
Right? Great that you were able to go. Thank you for sharing the experience!! Unfenced Love 'til the Cows Come Home. . .and then. . .

A great snapshot of the concert-- it's cool that you were able to observe all these things even with the excitement of being there.
