Baking Bread

Baking Bread without ........The bread making machine

I adore cooking it’s a passion of my mine. Last year I decided to have a go at baking my own bread.
The first thing on my checklist was to find some recipes. My fingers went searching on the web to find Hovis did a cookbook. My philosophy is to go with who knows, then you cannot go wrong.
Shame it doesn’t work. The recipes were followed to the letter, but there was always something that was lacking, either it didn’t rise enough or the taste was not what it should be! I wasn’t to be defeated but thought it best to put the idea on hold for a while.
One weekend, my daughter came to visit bearing gifts. One was a small cookbook on Irish baking.
All the recipes looked delicious but the one that caught my attention was the recipe on how to make Irish Soda Bread.
So easy to make, it tasted delicious, looked extremely professional. I was hooked
