Howdy! I want to thank the readers that have written me about the books they wrote on brain injury! I applaud them. I know how difficult and time consuming it is to write this kind of a book. Thank you for your support on my writing, "Shadows In The Fog."
The work was on hiatus for a long time due to some "life changes" - but now that those transitions have settled down, I believe I can get back to work on the book.
The hiatus afforded me some new and challenging learning experiences that can be interesting when living with a brain injury. Though I've had several years of rehabilitation, and have 'come a long way,' without medication, there are always good days and bad days.
The book is not going to be a book of victimization. It is going to be a book of success. A book of empowerment and faith, and overcoming challenges. It is intended to teach neurologists, care givers and the injured what it is truly like to live inside the body of a brain injured person. What we think, and feel. How we hurt - WHY we hurt. There are those that want to make the others understand but don't know how.
I am hoping to one day be able to speak at BIA meetings and seminars. To help empower and motivate TBI'rs to overcome their challenges. It's a long road, and a difficult road filled with many potholes. I've learned though, that our lives are often filled with many challenges in order for us to become stronger.
Every morning that we get up and keep trying, keep going, we are surviving, even when it hurts. When we choose to be happy, and find the blessings in our day, and choose to love others like tomorrow may never come, we are successful.
May you choose success.
Until next time...
Love and light,
