Dental Doom

Can they make it any more unpleasant?
Have you ever noticed the green flash in the desert? Neither have I.

Anyway, I had to go to the dentist yesterday. We had been 'watching' some suspicious fillings with cracks and various shadows on X-rays. My lovely young dental professional (who is also my neighbor - don't make this mistake) decided it was time to stop watching.

Uh-oh.

She seemed so sweet and reassuring, I should have known something was up. One and half hours and $500+ later, my mouth stretched well beyond it's capacity, and water dribbling down my chin I now have temporary crowns. Let this be a lesson to you - take care of your teeth and gums, floss every day, and use mouthwash. Which I do and it doesn't make that much difference when there are two grown people on either side of you with both hands completely inside this major body orifice pulling in opposite direction. Suction on the left, drilling on the right...

So I rewarded myself with a big chocolate chip cookie full of sugar and bought a new electric toothbrush. Unfortunately, my mouth is now three times wider than it was yesterday morning and the toothpaste keeps falling out on my sweater.
