Hello, again!
Once upon a time, I wasn’t entirely sure how best to utilize Author’s Den toward my humble goals of formal, professional, non-self-publication. When I received rejections based exclusively on the fact that items had been “previously published” by my posting them here, I backed away. Eventually, I cancelled my paid membership and left only a handful of items posted here. Over the past year and a half or so, I’ve explored other options for blogging, posting, etc.
LiveJournal has possibilities; however, it is HUGE and ‘good luck’ getting readers to find you. Furthermore, many corporate systems block LJ to users, so lunchtime and break-time views will not be possible to many readers. Along with that issue, my corporate system blocks my own access to LJ, so I cannot add content while at work.
My personal website is another option; however, it is a tiny speck of dust in a universe of web sites and ‘good luck’ getting readers to find it. Furthermore, it can be cumbersome for me to update, and I can’t even consider updating it at work because it is on Yahoo, and, like LJ, personal accounts on Yahoo are blocked on the system at my corporate office.
Back to Authors Den…
My posts on Authors Den immediately come up in the Number 1 spots during Yahoo and Google searches. Readers are more likely to find me HERE than on my own web site.
I can access, update and revise anything I have posted to AD from work; AD is not automatically blocked by my corporate system.
AD is easy to update.
All in all, AD really is an excellent tool for writers. For that reason, I am returning 101% to this site.
I have signed up again for a paid membership, although sticking to Silver for now, for budgetary reasons.
As time goes on, I will re-post poems previously posted here, and I will add new content.
I will also ‘blog’ when the mood or the need strikes.
All in all … I’m back! And glad to be here! ;-)
