Squids
Well….. Hello there…
Remember my predicament with all this “Ahoy Brethren of the Coast!” thing and me trying to write a story about pirates now knowing one of a ship from the other?
Well, I’ve had to find myself a job and guess what? I’ve landed in a company that imports and exports squids, cuttlefish and octopus from and to all over the world. Now you can have a good laugh if you want to but till I went into this place I couldn’t tell the difference between a calamari and sepia. There are so many different types of them! And sizes, let’s not talk about sizes! They all have different names!

All I knew about these creatures until now was that you, ( me ) went to the shop and bought some, cut it up and fried it with some olive oil and garlic and had it as a tapas! Well, I’ve definitely found a new world here! I’ve even found out that there are some giant squids roaming the oceans that actually attack swimmers! Urghhhh! With those giant tentacles! Yuck!
I’m lucky though. I don’t work in the processing plant, I work in the office so I don’t come back home stinking of fish! I must be a bit weird because I like going down the processing plant with huge wellies and a white coat and a cap to see all the process and the little creatures ready to be packed and dispatched to all those big supermarkets! Perhaps I’m a 4 by 4 on high heels!
I don’t have time to write stories right now because apart from working and teaching from home I’m moving which means I’m filling banana and apple boxes of books, lots of them. How did they all get into my house? I even have books in the bathroom!
I’ll let you know how I get on…
Have fun
