Sunday Morning in the Mountains...

Enjoying the quiet of the house this morning, and reading so many of my friends wonderful stories and poems I feel so blessed to have so many friends scattered all across the world. I want to thank each of you for stopping by my random blogs during my absense from the den. It feels wonderful to know that even though I have been absent...I have not been forgotten. It's been a bit crazy here in the mountains, but things are beginning to slow down and are slowly beginning to fall back into a normal routine again. The days I've spent at home this week have been wonderful, no papers to grade or file, no lesson plans to work on, no pressing appointments, no deadlines, just relaxation...cleaning, cooking, catching up with my family, and myself as well as my friends at the den. However, tomorrow will be a back to the hustle and bustle of buzz of the classroom with all of my beautiful students eager to share their own stories about their Thanksgiving festivities. I can't complain, I love it...but enjoy a few days away to catch my breath and get ready for the next round which for my first grade will be preparing for Christmas. Christmas for first grade is the ultimate holiday, six years old, filled with visions of toys, Santa Clause, gifts, candy, family, toys, did I mention toys! How easily I recall that wonderful innocent age, the lights, trees, cookies, family, and opening gifts that we had already had a little peek at earlier in the year when our mom thought they were well hidden in the bottom of her closet! We didn't tell her until years later that we always found the gifts and snuck a peek...just part of being a kid I guess. My kids did the same thing...and now I suppose my grandchildren will if they've not already. Well, enough about yesterdays...I'm off to prepare for tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for continuing to stop by my den, even when I've not been around for a while. Wishing everyone blessings from the mountains of Kentucky this blessed Sunday morning...
