No Excuse 11/14/2009 7:55:54 AM I Can't Find Any
There is no excuse for what happened at Ft. Hood. American soldiers killed on their own soil by one who was supposed to be one of them. I can think of nothing more disturbing or despicable than soldiers dying on their own bases, killed by someone who had no business even being there.
Once again it’s been proven that Americans are not safe on American soil. Once again a sick and deluded individual has murdered because someone was asleep on the job and not responding to the signals that pointed to was about to happen. Why, why was this man allowed in the armed services to begin with, why aren‘t adequate background checks done on all military personnel? Why was he allowed to continue on in service when evidence of his instability and his terrorist connections became known?
Innocent people have paid with their lives for someone’s negligence. This was an act of terrorism, make no mistake about it and it’s not going to be the last one.
We have played at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, just like we did in Vietnam. If we were going to win this war it should have received our maximum military might or it should never have been started. Mr. President bring our troops HOME. We have no business in Afghanistan now, with a corrupt Afghan government and no clear objectives concerning this war. Bring our troops home where they can guard our welfare and homeland security because if the terrorism at Ft. Hood doesn’t prove just how faulty that homeland security is what will it take to prove it?
And why are the terrorists from 9/11 being tried in Civilian court? Since when are war criminals tried outside a military court? It's time to rethink our military policies and set our priorities.
Americans are suffering. We need to address our own governmental and economic needs first before we go chasing ghosts over foreign mountains or trying to rebuild other countries when our own is falling apart.
