So, let's catch up on the last couple of years, has it really been that long? So much has been going on, very little time spent writing although plenty of ideas swirl in my head at the most inopportune times (like when I'm driving down the road or something like that).
Hubby was diagnosed as Type II Diabetic about a year and a half ago, he takes pills, and with some dietary changes he stays pretty stable although that seemed to lead the way into ill health for him. He had pancreatitis last Summer and spent a few days in hospital for it, recovered fully thank the Lord. They say they couldn't find any reason for it and they were surprised at how quickly he got better, apparently this is something VERY serious. Wow!
Confused us a bit as everyone was asking how much alcohol he drinks (and we're the ones who can have a 6 pack in the fridge for most of the year). Turns out that the number one cause of pancreatitis is alcoholism. We did wonder afterwards about the sugar alcohol that replaces sugar in lot of diabetic foodstuffs - is that classed as a real alcohol? We've alwasy forgotten to ask when we've talked to our doctor.
Then he had a ruptured disk in his back, and was in bed for 3-4 days . Poor man, I felt so sorry for him. All semblance of youth was ripped away and he was forced to admit that middle age held him fast within its throes.
As for me, well, ye bones get ever more achy and creaky. My doctor sent me to an orthopedic surgeon, hoping he would persuade me that knee and hip replacement was my only option, but when he examined my history of not coming around well from very minor surgeries years ago, he understood my not wanting to go through with them. Both my knees are shot and one hip is trying to go the same way. Te osteoporosis in my back though seems to be no worse than it was 3 years ago, which - to me - seems like a good thing.
I use a hiking stick a lot of times if I have to walk any distance and some days just can't manage to go too far at all.
My weight continues to be a problem, and a new insurance company's demand that I change one of my bp meds resulted in a heart murmur showing up (which - of course - we can't prove is related although it wasn't there before I was forced to take this drug). I'm back on my original one now but no stabilized yet. 3 years of controlling it down the drain. Plus having to let my body get used to it again so getting the side effects. Ugh!
My Nubian goats had babies this February and I made some brilliant fudge from the milk. I'm not milking now though, and the babies have gone to new homes.I just have my four originals, Rammy (now neutered), Cleo, Sadie and Red (my buck). My vet says he doesn't think he has seen such pampered goats!
We no longer foster for Kitten Action Team but our own household of animals now comprises 7 cats and 4 dogs. I ran out of time and had to cut some of my obligations.
I started selling AVON in October and am loving it! If you want to buy AVON you can go to my site at
and order directly from there, choose direct delivery and use code SHIP3 to get $3 shipping , no matter how large your order.
I've been doing so well. I've built a downline of over 15 people now and am building my business and helping my downline build theirs. It's definitely something that makes me smile, the very idea that I'm no an AVON lady.
Hubby wasn't really very supportive at first, but now as he sees me getting regular cheques and working my way up to a full time income with a part time job, he's getting much better. He even takes books and orders into work for me.
My daughter, Tzena, had twins in February of 2006, the pregnancy was a bit of a problem for her but both boys - Reuben and Aaron - arrived safely and have grown great since then.
My granddaughter, Angelica, went on a school trip to France at the beginning of the month, and had a lovley time. They visited the Normandy beaches as well as Montmartre and Paris in general. Got me some posters of the Moulin Rouge and one of Toulouse-Lautrec, the little crooked-bodied man who painted the beautiful pictures of the dancers there.
My 13 year old grandson moved in with us in April, and that has been an experience. He's into the Gothic style of dress and despite thinking I was cool for my age, there's just something about watching two 13 year old BOYS putting eyeliner on each other that just doesn't seem right. Ah, so now I must admit I'm finally old!
So this has been my update, I'll try to pop in more frequently and I do need to take time for my writing, I miss my old friend.
Maybe I can at least stop by and post comments on the days events, shall have to try that and see.
