Sam Ford, Town Marshal for the small, isolated, town of Prosperity, AZ. has fallen into the same malaise as the town. Prosperity was bypassed by the busy Interstate Highway years ago. The town has since fallen into decay. Sam plans to retire in a year before the next election, when his term is up. But he is jarred back into doing his job by the murder of a local girl.
Simon Horn, Native American, makes the mistake of leaving the real world and wandering into Prosperity in search of a gas station. Simon has his pickup truck stolen while in the rest room of the town gas station. The station attendant swears he has never seen Simon or his truck.
In his effort to report his truck stolen, Simon encounters a hostel and indifferent town Marshal’s Office. Prejudice appears to be a way of life in Prosperity.
When the murdered girl is found in Simon’s abandoned truck he becomes a murder suspect. Simon is now a hunted man with no one to turn to. He becomes the prey of the Town Marshal’s Office. Simon vanishes into the shadows of the old town as Sam Ford attempts to hunt him down. The cat and mouse game begins.
Simon struggles to learn the true identity of the murderer, and win the deadly game of hide or die. Confronted by an assortment of unusual characters that inhabit the town of Prosperity, he is faced with the problem of whom to trust in this strange and hostile environment. He must stay one step ahead of the over zealous deputies from Sam Ford’s office.
Murder, prejudice, and deception abound in the town that is Sam Ford’s prison and Simon Horn’s worst nightmare.
