It used to be magic to wake to the first snow of the year. Especially if it was in December. That meant there was a good old White Christmas on the way and there was also the hope of that other wonderful winter event -- the snow day.
How is it that frozen rain, littering the yard and streets, filling in gutters and making walkways a hazard, used to actually make me happy?
My son is tickled that there's another nor'easter in the forcast, but all I can think about is the drive to Maine and the prospect of sliding off into some ditch into oblivion.
I want the magic back.
