lunch with an editor 7/27/2003 11:44:36 AM Last week in NYC I had lunch with the editor at Silhouette who has had "Dancer" and "Bennett's Story." When I met her in Silhouette's lobby, she had a paper in her hand, which she gave me. It was a short list of revisions for me to make. She wants both novels for their Special Edition line! She'd told me before that she wanted them after she read "Dancer," but she hadn't read "Bennett's Story," so it was really hard to wait and wait and hope and hope... you know? You'd think I'd be bouncing off the walls and ceiling and stratosphere, but actually I feel kind of numb. And it's been five days. I keep wanting to call her and ask if we REALLY had that conversation. I have to keep getting out the paper she gave me (I've practically memorized it by now) to look at, to assure myself I wasn't just dreaming.
