I'm working on several things at once right now because I think they're all good ideas, and I can't choose between them.
I have just recently published a children's book called The Yagoos Go To Town. The idea for the book came when I decided that I should be using this wonderful ability to self publish to create stories for my son. In the end, the story ended up being far to mature for a 5 month old, so I published it anyway, with other children in mind. I will be working on a more infant friendly story soon.
The characters for the Yagoos book were first sketched out on paper. Then I decided that the only way I knew to incorporate them in my book was if I could use Photoshop to create them and then import the pictures into my document. From that, the characters took on much more detail than my original sketches and I even changed some characters completely (like Po). I am pleased with the way the book came together. So pleased, in fact, that as soon as I finished it, I rushed to to publish the work. My mother, ever my first reader, bought the book before anyone else could get to it. I think she will always be the first one to buy every book of mine.
I chose the name "Yagoos" because I wanted to use a word that my 5 month old son would say. Something nonsensical and cute. He is fond of saying "Agoooooo", so I thought I would vary that a little bit and use "Yagoo". The baby in the book, Bah, says "Yagoo!" just like my little baby boy.
I'm currently working on a book of daily devotional messages for Christ Disciples, an online resource site. As I am inspired, I write. So far, the book is about 1/3 of the way complete. It will still need to be edited and revised after completion of the writing, as no one is editing as I write. I expect a couple more months before the book can be published, and then volume two work will begin.
The challenging book I'm in the process of writing is Politics For the Average American. I had the idea for this book when I finally became fed up with hearing people say that they don't vote because politics don't matter to them. I hear so many people talk about how they don't keep up with politics because it "doesn't interest" them. Tired of making my plea for them to realize that legislation affects us all and that they should care, I decided to lay out my case on paper. The process has been slow and at times I've come to dead ends in writing. I hope, before the year end, to have this book finished and at least ready for review by my peers, if not published.

In other areas, I'm helping Wyatt McIntyre edit his book Montana Skies. The book is already published and available to buy, but Wyatt and I both noticed a few typographical errors, some missing punctuation, and other little glitches in the book. Wyatt initated, among his friends, a revision. I, along with Wyatt and several others, am going back through the book with a red pen to perfect the work. Montana Skies is an excellent novel and I urge you to get a copy and read it. Then, pass it to your friends to read it.
