I have to admit that the global warming issue’s been confusing me for a while now. Some scientists state that evidence proves the climate is definitely warming due to greenhouse gases etc., yet other scientists claim they have evidence that contradicts this. Also, there are politicians who’ve denied that global warming is a problem while others are building careers on the issue. So, is it any wonder that the lay person doesn’t know what to believe? Perhaps it’s not a stretch to wonder if some sort of skullduggery is going on in the scientific community, especially by scientists who have a vested interest in “proving” their case. I have no idea who’s right or wrong in the global warming debate, but since scientists have been known to fudge results for their cause in the past, I’m tossing the possibility out there, particularly after reading Christopher K. Leavitt’s piece in news.gather.com

Leavitt  writes that someone’s hacked into the computers at a major climate research university and stole large amounts of data including “emails that expose fraudulent reporting of climate records”.  The article implies that scientists at the University of East Anglia have deliberately ignored and/or manipulated data that disputes the global warming theory. Mr. Leavitt also goes on to say that the mainstream networks are all but ignoring this story, except for FOX. And speaking of liars, The Canadian Press reports that police have arrested 29 people in a large counterfeiting ring that was making fake passports and drivers’ licences. Apparently, the authorities have been watching this bunch since 2006 and that some of the fake passports are still in circulation, but we’re told that the police found no links between the counterfeiters and terrorists. What is particularly disturbing is that these Montreal criminals were using daycares as a front for their activities. In fact, parents were called by police to pick up their kids so they could shut three facilities down. Supposedly, the children in daycare were never in any danger, but imagine how you’d feel if you’d been taking your child to one of these homes.
