Where Oh Where Is My Youth
2/18/2004 7:32:54 AM    [ Flag as Spam or Inappropriate ]

I still feel like a youngster. A youngster with dwindling vision and un-explained pains. I hate my glasses, they get in the way. Sometimes when I'm driving the frame obstructs my view. There always a smudge or some foreign matter on the lens. The problem is now I'm a vision addict. I catch my self falling to sleep in them. Remember when your grandparents would fall asleep with their eyeglasses tipped in an awkward position. Who would of thunk it. That's me now! It's a hate and love relationship. As a writer I must have them. However when I'm involved in some other activity, they get in the way. Surely in the new millennium there is a less expensive and practical solution for this annoyance. Why isn't there a perfect vision pill on the market. That's certainly more beneficial to humankind than viagra. I was talking to my girlfriend the other day. We wondered why age seems to come upon you overnight. You go to bed in your late thirties feeling fine and wake up the next day with stiff bones, back pain and a bad attitude to boot. Why did my body turn against me? I exercised in my youth, ate fairly well and got enough sleep. Did someone forget to inform my body of this. Supposedly taking care of one-self will slow aging woes. That's the biggest lie ever told. When old age comes a knocking there's no denying him his due. I assign the maculine gender to age because that seems fitting. Men are a pain in the ass and so is aging.
