Embracing and Manifesting Our Dreams Part 2
3/22/2009 5:01:57 PM
Blogging is such a wonderful way to communicate and share ideas.Feel free to share your comments with me.

In last week's blog, I shared with you the importance of prayer and resilience in the manifesting and embracing of my (our) dreams.

If you read the blog, you learned that prayer has always preceded every major challenge I have undertaken, and as a result of prayer, I have realized my dreams, even the most difficult ones.

I also shared with you the importance of resilience, being able to bounce back after suffering setbacks.

None of us will achieve our goals if we allow the challenges to get us down or keep us down.

When the dream is valuable enough to us, there is a way to realize it, and we will find the best way(s) for us as we pray constantly and regroup when set backs occur, and they will occur won't they?

Although prayer and resilience are very important in manifesting and embracing our dreams, taking action is equally important. Some type of action is needed daily to keep our dreams uppermost in our minds.

Without focused action, our dreams stay pinned to the drawing boards of our lives, always happening in the future,'later' or 'soon'.

Three months after I began writing my book, my mom who was visiting became ill. It was very difficult for me to write, but she encouraged me to stick with it, and when I experienced the 'proverbial writer's block' as I often did, I would edit the pages I had already written,or I'd do something else related to the project so that I could stay actively involved in it.

I am sure my mom knew, as I did, that if I had stopped writing, the book may not have been completed until sometime in the distant future, and what a great reason (excuse) I would have had for not completing it.

Another key factor in realizing our dreams is practicing selflessness. Yes, you read correctly.Have you heard this saying:"The best way to get what you want is to help someone else get what they want?"

I admit, it was difficult for me to grasp the truth of this at first, but I have come to acknowledge and accept this fact because each time I have done what I could do to help someone reach a goal, when my dreams were unrealized, it wasn't long before my goals were obtained also.I challenge you to do what I do: Help someone else reach their goals when you can, even when you haven't reached yours, and see what happens.

Finally, we must be passionate about the dream; our enthusiasm should be obvious to all around us. When we value the dream, the work that has to be done to realize it,will seem more like play, and this will help us to stay focused and energized so that we can take the daily action needed to move the dream forward.

Taken separately, prayer, resilience, action, practicing selflessness, and being passionate about our dreams, are powerfully effective in embracing and manifesting them, but when these factors are used simultaneously on a regular basis, our dreams will become our reality.
