Blogs by Steve Joos
Thoughts on a recent post 10/16/2006 3:29:04 PM I've just posted my 50th poem at Authorsden.com, "The seamstress and the kid" and I'm having a bit of a dilemma.
The poem is about two early figures in the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s nad early 1960's, Rosa Parks adn Emmitt Till. I don't know if I should be writing things like this, for this reason.
I'm a middle-aged white man from a very conservative political and religous background. Quite frankly, I'm rather awkward in social situations involving people of other races. Why am I writing this?
