Another week at Black Dog Ranch

Well its been quit interesting here at the ranch this week. The flies are bad this time of year and they are driving the horses crazy so I decided to put out some fly traps. I was not prepared for how bad the stuff smelled! The dogs gathered around while I mixed up the stinky stuff and so I decided to let them get a good sniff of what I was putting in those jugs.
They loved it!!! Why is it that the more disgusting something smells to us humans the more the dogs seem to like it??? I'm pretty sure if I would have let them they would have spent the rest of the morning rolling in it. Yuk! Funny thing, these dogs may have started out on the wrong side of town, but now days they spend their time sleeping the afternoons away on my front porch and occasionally, wondering over to the food bowl to get a bit to eat, chewing on rawhides, chasing each other around the farm when the mood prompts them, so why is it that they still think they could possibly have to cover their scent for the next big hunt??? Dogs are funny and I guess dogs will be dogs........
p.s. I hung the jugs of stinky stuff way up in the top of the barn, I wasn't taking any chances!
