Molly Gumnut Rescues a Bandicoot
3/25/2011 3:17:07 PM
Molly loves playing with her neighbour's cat, but not when she catches him attacking a little animal. Dashing into Mrs Wilson’s garden, she shoos Tiddles away and rescues the baby bandicoot. After bandaging his wound, she names him Furble and takes him to the animal hospital, but the vet won’t let her keep him. He says bandicoots are protected native animals and have to go to a trained wildlife carer. Determined to keep Furble, Molly tells the vet her grandmother is a member of a wildlife rescue. The vet agrees to let Molly take the bandicoot to her grandmother’s until he’s well enough to be released back to the wild. Molly stays with her grandmother, hoping to bring Furble back to health. But when she finds out Grandma plans to release Furble back to his own territory when he recovers, she’s horrified. That’s where the big mean cat lives. No way will Molly let Furble get hurt by that cat again, and she won’t keep her opinions to herself. She doesn’t care if she gets into trouble for yelling at the neighbour and disobeying her parents. She kidnaps Furble and takes him on a journey to find him a safer home. But as darkness falls, things go badly wrong and Molly realizes she’s made a huge mistake. Now, she's put Furble’s life in even more danger, not to mention her own.

My third children's book, Molly Gumnut Rescues a Bandicoot will be available for sale as soon as I've finished my last edit. It will be available as a paperback with Amazon, and aslso as an eBook with Amazon Kindle and Smashwords.
