Stupid Money--Walking Over Dimes 3/12/2008 9:59:57 AM You know, people are always looking for a sale but never stop to think that while looking for that sale, somebody already marked up the price so that they can make us THINK it's a sale when it isn't. Hence, we have a think called "The Dollar Store Mentality." As boring as it may be, my husband Kenny and I are going on a 4 day 3 night cruise with about 2,000 of our closest YTB friends on May 30. We know already that we can get a break on our tickets, and it people want to go with us we'd get paid for that as well so essentially, our entire trip is tax deductible 100 percent and could even end up being free.
But we're happy with the tax deduction. One can't be to greedy you know?
Anyway, I like to look at other websites even though we have our own travel booking site. And a funny thing though, is we don't realize how good we really have it. When people say "this is too good to be true" as I once did about YTB travel, what is the converse conclusion?
"HOW BAD DOES SOMETHING HAVE TO BE TO BE TRUE?" If someone asked me "How are you today Cynth'ya?" would my reply have to be "I have terminal cancer and I'm dying in 3 days" would someone say "Oh my, that's too good to be true!"???
Think world, just think of how many of us are so cheap because we're afraid someone's going to take away the pittance of ownership that our government currently allows us to have without taxing it to death. Blast it if I can take a vacation once and year and write it all off on my taxes, what is that too good to be true? I'm gonna go anyway! I'm gonna go see my crazy relatives anyway! I'm gonna go out a kick up my heels and have as good a time as I am anyway so if I can grab a portion of my money out of Uncle Sammy-Terry's clutches (Sammy Terry was an Indianapolis character back in the 60s who scared all the little kids with a black cape and hood and very badly applied mime make up--one might say he was the knock off of Vincent Price. Mama wouldn't let me stay up late and watch him on weekends anyway...reminded her of the devil.)
So back to dollar store mentality. Alias "STUPID MONEY"
Next time you go into the Dollar Tree, the Dollar Mart, the Dollar-Rama, Dollar Deals, Family Dollar, Dollar General....if everthing that was sold in that store allowed you the option to make one stinkin' penny for everyone you sent into that store that was your friend, your relative, your neighbor, your church family, your high school and college chums and chummettes, how many pennies would that be over, say, ummmm, 5 years?
Let's say someone works their job and every day they go to work, they find a dime on the ground when they go in to work, and when they come out. That's 20 cents a day. That's 1 dollar a week free money for five days JUST for going to work. There's always going be a dime on the ground (remember that phrase. . . "a dime on the ground.")
Now pretend there are two cars parked on either side of you that you have to walk by to get to your car in the lot going to and from your workplace. They also have a dime on the ground coming in and going out, but are content to just leave it there. You all park in the same lot, but two of your coworkers just leave it on the ground because they're happy with their $22,000 a year non-tax deductible jobs. But you pick their dimes. That's four more dimes for you that day. You've leveraged what others have ignored.
How much do you have now? How much would you have if you did this twice a day for 5 days a week, four weeks a month, 12 months a year?
Dimes add up, don't they y'all?
All YTB is for us is a bunch of dimes that most people ignorantly are leaving behind. . . only for so many working families, the YTB dimes come with a comma in the check.
How much can those dimes, creating dollars, help a family?
Recorded call: Listen . . . and share it with other dime collectors you may know: 512-404-1250 or 212-990-6138 or 405-244-4085 (Spanish 405-244-4089),
God bless y'all..... happy dime collecting.
Following is an itinerary for a flight we booked on our own YTB Worldspan search engine when we take our cruise this May. We're staying a couple of extra days in Miami....Kenny's going to be retired May 30, so why rush it?
But get this: Not only is the YTB flight cheaper on the SAME plane at the SAME time from the SAME airport with the SAME seats than the ITA software website that searches ALL of the lowest fares on the next from an independent search airline booking systems, but it explains that "IF" there is a lower fare on the internet, one of the reasons is LOWER NEGOTIATED RATES that are outside of ITA's search control.
YTB is outside of their control and nearly 100 percent of the time we can say that in EVERY search we have done on our engine vs. EVERYONE else, YTB beats them all hands down.
If they don't beat them, they meet them. Therefore it makes sense to say that if a website is going to pay you 60% of the airline vendors commission....and you can write 100 percent of your airline ticket off on your taxes, and you can buy coach and get upgraded free to first class in most cases BECAUSE you are affiliated with YTB....and when people who know you can save money on your site and YTB pays you the commission that the airline would have made.... It's not rocket science.
Some people just choose to give up the money. The rest of us choose to have the money sent back to our accounts. It has NOTHING to do with whether a person wants to network market, and EVERYTHING to do with whether a person wants to save money on their travel and write it off on their taxes.
P.S. For people who don't want to travel, do they ever need flowers or a car or an event ticket or a golf tee time? Do they need to attend a wedding and buy a gift? Do they need a free wedding website where people can pay for their honeymoon? Do they need to raise money for a charity? YTB has ALL of that and then some.
People either get it, or they don't. God bless y'all. Share this new recorded number with folks who get it and want to get paid some more. Gas will be $4.00/gal. And people will not get a raise on their paycheck because of it.
YTB explained, especially when people press Option 3. So if you got your taxes back, sign up for YTB and save thousands on your taxes next year. This year is over.
