Poetry of Esther Parent Durocher: The Island of Dreams

This is the last legible poem from Esther. It seems to conclude the series of laments present in the last couple of poems
When the shadows fall
And the night birds call
And life is not what it seems
With love so true, I go to you
On my beautiful Island of Dreams
And you'll meet me there
Where the winds blow free
And a beacons light has never shined
And will pass the hours in leafy bowers
With never a tie to bind
You will be to me
What you will never be
Where love is not what it seems
And will live in a world that is all our own
On the Island of My Dreams
Then back again in duty's path
Where life is not what it seems
There to stay until the end of day
Then back to my Island of Dreams
