In Memorium

Just over a week ago I was given tragic news. One of my closest friends was murdered - in South Africa. Like me, she was a British girl but had lived in SA for most of her life. I've been in a state of dazed shock for most of the week and haven't really been able to shed tears until today when it finally hit me. It's over for her. Nobody will ever see her or enjoy her presence again...not on this earth anyway. It's been really tough to work today when tears have been pouring down my cheeks.
I am heartbroken that a young woman of only 37 years of age has lost her life in such a horrible way. (She was sexually assaulted and beaten. She died of massive brain hemmorrhaging) What makes me even more heartbroken is that she's left two young children behind who will now have to deal with the senseless murder of their beloved mother. Their father abandoned them years before and their mother was all they had. I can't imagine how they will cope. I'm angry with the powers that be in South Africa who allow this to happen. I could go on with the diatribe but I'll stop at this point. It is not worthy of her memory.
REST IN PEACE DEE MY BELOVED FRIEND! YOUR RADIANT SMILE WILL FOREVER LIVE ON IN MY MEMORY.
