Sorry bunch of no good 'neighbors'

The writing group I participate with grabbed onto this phrase: "sorry bunch of no good friends". It was in one of the writers pieces. Now, it has become an inside joke for us all. I decided to adapt it to describe my neighbors. The huge part to why I've been so quiet lately. Ever since Christmas, we have found ourselves twisted into their melodrama.
The house next door is a rental, and there are 3 families occupying it. Over Christmas break, one of the families changed the locks, trying to boot one of the other families. Well the person caught in the middle came over to our house at 11 PM because she couldn't get in. Hubby let her use the phone and then we stayed up till 1 in the morning, learning what was going on in the house.
Then a couple weeks ago, the third adult renter called the cops, because she couldn't get in the house AND the first woman and this new one came over at 11pm again! to use the phone to get someone to pick them up, because they couldn't get in the house. While they were doing this, they started arguing in MY living room. Also Hubby went out and talked to the police. Oh boy what a mess!!! Now, we're keeping a close eye on the house, keeping our doors locked, and talking to the HOA on getting them ALL booted.
This and just my everyday work has kept be bustling and unable to write as much as I'd like. Of course since the last cop visit (and it wasn't the first), we haven't let any of the neighbors in the house. So finally I've had some time to reflect and WRITE. Someday this will be excellent book material of my "sorry bunch of no good neighbors".
