How to Access the Magic

MAGIC MAN'S MUSINGS
I'm sure I get all kinds of looks on your faces when you read my blog and I mention the word magic. For some, the look could be saying, "Is this guy kidding?" or "What has he been smoking lately?" Others may feel a child-like wonder well up inside and they remember when they were kids and had hopes of doing the impossible. It's a term that sparks both hope and dismay.
Others will see it as creative ability, expression, or art and identify it with their own inspiration. They can only tell you that, for some reason, they sense or feel a compulsion to manifest with paper, pen or brush certain impulses and images that come to them in their consciousness. Where these impulses come from they may not be sure, but they usually find great pleasure and joy in sharing these gifts with others. Musicians and singers also fall into this class as well as poets.
If you ask them how they do this, most of the time they can't tell you. Mostly, it's automatic or it happens when it happens. One thing is for sure, it does not usually happen on command. Most of the time it happens when you least expect it. Respect of the magic and a willingness to be available to it is important. You can disrespect or ignore these impulses and they will lessen or even go away. This would be tragic, because nothing reminds us more of the eternal or existence of a greater power than when we create or express our vision. It is a link to what I call the magic. We feel less alone and more worthy when we are connected and can express a deep insight. It means we have a purpose and a reason for being.
My understanding is that the magic is everywhere. It is in everything. It waits for us to become aware of it and surrender to its presence in us. Some people feel that it would be nice to have a power to control others or force things to happen at will. They fear that who they think they are is not enough to be happy or successful in this life. Motivated by fear and a deep lack of self-worth, they seek to misuse the power of their magical connection and usually end up in deep mental turmoil and confusion. They do not understand that you cannot control the magic, you can only surrender to it and allow it to flow through you and bring new life, to you and others.
You do not have to pray or beg for the magic. No higher authority sits in judgment over you. These ideas are what keep a distance between people and their magical nature. It is a conspiracy between those who want to control others and those who feel powerless and want others to guide and control their lives. Both have been a recipe for disaster for centuries. You do not need a King, a Queen or a President to run your life or hypocrites to create laws that protect their interests and keep the masses in check. The conspiracies of fear and ignorance have served well those who have sought to gain over others and not give of their best to mankind.
Magic is what you are. It flows into and out of you. You do not need to buy it, seek it or sacrifice for it. It waits for you to recognize or be aware of it -- to rejoin with it and feel it once again rush through you, showing you the possibilities and the promise of its presence. It offers to guide you if you allow it, only working though you if you serve it for the greater good of all. The future is never set in stone and predictions are never absolute.
