checking out the civil war

Working on an American civil war story at this point and it is somewhat amazing that even all these years, there seems to be so much that is still unknown about some of the people I am trying to research. As one of the characters in the upcoming book believes, innovation is bred much in the shadows of war, and so many things were developed in this war. It is sadly amazing though, that in each war, these remarkable innovations grow more gruesome than the one before, placing the human in a most vulnerable position.
Off for a few more pages - the thoughts are moving well.
