Amazon sales Rank

If I understand this correctly, amazon.com has me listed as 1,467,072 out of 2,200,00 book sales. That is an improvement of 132,313 places from the previous week. What I don't know is if that means I sold one book and the other 132,313 books did not sell a thing, or I had enough sales to beat theirs. Sales rank numbers should include the actual number of books sold. I like to see the book climbing on sales but I believe amazon and borders are linked for that number while the other sales from other locations are NOT part of that number. I wonder how the book is climbing if I have not yet started to do any PR yet.
