Twirl With Me!
There’s a little angel wind chime perched on the corner of my desk, and the breeze coming through the window is sending her twirling in circles, as she tries to play the horn that she is holding. I am reminded of the circles that I find myself going in these days, as I try to organize the thoughts that run in endless mazes through my brain – What to do with them all?! Talk about hoarding! I believe that I have held on to every mistake that I have ever made, and all of the negative thoughts that go with them – true ‘hairlooms’ - That last one came from my brain’s pun centre! Then there are the hopeful thoughts that manage to hang in there despite the overcrowding. They are really quite beautiful, but unfortunately, also very timid – especially the new ones. Each time I pull one of them out, they seem to get put to the side, while other heavier thoughts bully their way to the front; and I am left missing their lovely colours, and wondering exactly where I had left them. I really need to call on all of them right now, and move them to the front of my ‘closet’ so they’ll be the first in line each day as I start up the old engine (That’s assuming that the engine has not been left running all night!) Come out, come out, all of you beautiful hopeful thoughts, wherever you are – I promise to give you my full attention before I let the bullies back out. Help me to transform that confusing maize into a beautiful peaceful labyrinth; and as my life continues to twirl; I will close my eyes and twirl with it, and blow my own horn, just a little.
