That's What I Think

Hi.
Well I've had a rough morning. I woke up out of a disturbing dream and it has carried through with me for the morning. In my dream I was driving Oprah Winfrey around with two of my grandaughters. Supposedly driving them to school. We decided to cut class and have fun instead. We ended up getting a hotel room at the end of the day because we were to tired to go further. (I'm cutting the dream short on purpose to get to the point) Upon waking and realizing we hadn't called parents nor gotten up soon enough to get them to school on day two, we frantically dressed and then couldn't find the car. Oprah was getting mad; the girls could have cared less. I searched and searched for the car and couldn't find it. I begin to get panicked and feel an attack coming on. "Find the car!" "Find the car!" but I couldn't... it wasn't where I thought I'd parked it and I was walking in circles trying to find it. Everyone was getting mad and impatient at my stupidity for losing the car. Finally they left without me and I said to Oprah, "Really, please forgive me its the menopause. It makes me have confusioin."
It was like I was losing my mind in the dream. I felt foggy in my head and I just couldn't think. Then I woke up shaky and clammy. I couldn't breate well. I had to tell myself it was just a dream. It didn't happen.
When this happens to me the feelings of helplessness and fogginess follow me into the waking world and I feel hapless and foolish and scared. Mornings like this take time to wear off. I have to keep soothing myself and say good words to myself to help the anxiety dissipate.
It can completely ruin a day if I am not careful. I must not allow myself to beleive the feelings from the dream. Most of all I must soothe myself to the point that I do not fall for the "I'm losing my mind" thought.
