Thank God again and again and again and again and again

Subtitle-why do I believe in God? I don't know.
At church today, we were asked a question by Amy. Why do we believe in God? I don't know but...
In 1968, I suffered a detached retina in my left eye. It was operated on by a fantastic eye surgeon in New York City and my vision returned just as before. My vision, at the time, was 20/200 in the right eye and 20/600 in the left eye. Not bad...
In 1970, I began to wear contact lenses and it worked out well. My vision in my right eye was 20/100 and 20/200 in the left. Not bad...
In 1976, I suffered another detached retina, this time in the right eye. I was operated on by another great surgeon and my vision returned just as before with the contacts.
In 1981, I suffered yet another detached retina in the right eye and was operated on by another fantastic surgeon and my vision came back just as before.
Let's jump ahead to 2000. At that time, I realized that I had cataracts in both eyes. I went to my eye doctor and he confirmed my suspicions but said that I would have to wait a few years for them to mature.
Now it's 2003, time for my cataracts to be operated on. While on the gurney, I prayed to Jesus and asked him to allow me to see good enough out of one eye to drive a car. I don't know what happened, but I'm driving today. I never thought that would ever happen in my lifetime. My current vision is about 20/35. I no longer use my left eye, but that's okay. I'm still driving...
Now we come to the present... About a month ago, I realized that I had lost my focal point. I could not read small print and for me, an avid reader, that was devastating. I called my doctor and asked to see them that same Friday. Alas, they would not be available for three weeks. The days dragged on and I became more frustrated.
The night before the appointment, I suddenly remembered that I had a friend in New Mexico that was a licensed ophthalmologist. I called Jim up and he diagnosed the problem over the phone for me. He said that I had an "After Cataract" it is a buildup of scar tissue inside your eye very near the hole in your pupil.
I went to the doctor and told him that I had an after cataract. He checked inside my eye and, sure enough, I did. As soon as I got home, I called my friend Jim and thanked him from the bottom of my heart.
So... Do I believe in Jesus? I don't know, but I think so. That's just me being sarcastic. I believe in Jesus with all my heart and the above is just one small reason why. There are many more. I hope that this blog has given you something to think about today and above all, may God bless.
