To be a Poet

To be a Poet one must at time speak when many would say
" DUCK"--In some countries to speak out against injustice and the way people are treated is to be sometimes a lone voice a " V " if you will in a world of sheep that likes the way things are. To be a Poet one must constantly have their ears and heart tuned to the cries around them-to only write
" Nice sweet " poems is I feel to miss the point of poetry-true some poems are sweet and nice but if you see something to speak out about do so-to be silent when you have a gift for writing and to simply allow others to muzzle your voice in order to make them happy is to in a sense sell your soul to a new devil and believe me there are enough of those around
Sometimes Poets have to be a lonely Knight on a hill-charging the fields of indifference at whatever the cost--to be silent or else you sometimes have to say" I think I will take the "or else" which is either door number 2 or 3 please"
I am a Poet-I am a Writer--I will not silence my thoughts-I will not go quietly-The world I feel is sinking more and more into a sea of let's all just get along and not express how we really feel. To see wrong and injustice given to others and say something like " well its not affecting me or its not my problem so I can ignore it"--is to show that you are in agreement with those who treat workers or citizens with dis-respect
A poet can inflame a nation to act-inspire a painter or a writer to engage the hearts and minds of millions
To have a gift for writing and not to use it when you see wrong and speak out wherever you see it is to agree that you are a sheep and you should not be allowed to express your opinion on anything in the future
