My rejuvination in writing my novel has made things quite exciting. I will be taking a break from my regular work and writing next weekend to recuperate, then turn the engines on again. I have an itch that I must scratch but I don't want to burn out doing it either.
The most satisfying part of my writing is when I finish the last line of the book. I'm looking forward to my last line on The Balkan Secret Conspiracy. I will drink some champagne when that last word is written--no matter how cheap the bottle.
I'm sticking my guns on this name. I've had some people think it wasn't a "good" title. Well, I believe it is. It alludes to what the book is about and still leaves you wanting more. One thing I've learned is that readers want to figure a book out by reading it--they don't want to be given all of the information; especially by the title name. Too boring. Being an avid, crazy reader myself, I would rather be baited and pulled in rather than be able to read into the plot by the title itself.
I have the unfortunate ability to be able to predict almost anything within movies--more so than most. So my books tend to be a bit more complex--I don't want you to be able to figure out what I'm thinking. It's not worth the read then, is it? Don't you want suspense? Don't you want unpredictability? I sure do.
I predicted 100% of what was going to happen in the movie, "National Treasure"; much to the annoyance of my husband. If I can get you to not be able to predict about 40% or less of my novel, I'm doing good. My aim is to, by the time I'm "seasoned", make you totally unable to predict what I'm thinking.
