I Still Have My Favorite Poets
3/30/2005 6:20:45 AM
I read old works and old books to keep me writing....
I have my favorite poets which I retrieve from my library from time to time...
Their talent was unmeasurable and their poetry are classics.
I read Robert Frost quite a bit and have his book by my bedside. Others I enjoy are Emily Dickenson and Walt Whitman.
One of the more modern poets I have enjoyed is Louise Gluck (always a favorite of mine). Her poetry is so real and I can relate to alot of what she writes. She reminds me somewhat of Rod McCuen. I was a fan of his in the 60's and 70's and used to go to his concerts.
I decided to write my blog to stay connected to myself. I know Oprah recommends it. Though to sit down with a pen and a paper and write it is hard for me.
I will write more each day and close for now...
