Readers' Reviews
8/28/2008 8:19:01 AM

Walker Joe Jackson is a fresh new voice who dares to be different. Readers have praised him as a great story teller. The publishing world is reluctant to publish new authors. A good example is the Harry Potter books, so Jackson decided to self-publish. Mrs. Rowling experienced considerable rejection in the beginning. She persisted and look at her now. At the presence, Jackson's 15 books are available only at Lulu.com and this his official WEBSITE.

What Readers Have Said About Jackson's Books

Angelina Engel a writing forum acquaintance read "Rose, Ma Petite." She emailed me and said, "I just finished reading your fantastic story and find it excellent! Your wording, your creativity and your mystery form kept me enthralled! You are one heck of a writer and it is such an honor to read your marvelous work! Thanks so much again for sending it to me."

Though I'm certain most woman will relate to this nineteenth century feminist, a man turned the pages of  "Rose, Ma Petite." He emailed me this: “I felt compelled to tell you of my opinion the minute I finished your book. And that opinion is simply absolutely wonderful. And it wasn't so much that the novel had plot points, catchy gimmicks, and contrivances so much as it was the simple, rich, wonderfully honest unfolding of a person's life and those who were in it. Your descriptions of things also were enjoyable: succinct and un-wordy, yet definitely with a sense of a careful choice of words and rhythm -- elegance evinced by simplicity and honesty.

A tennis friend's wife, an erudite lady who reads three books weekly, read "Rose, Ma Petite." She passed it back with a note. "Dear Walker, thoroughly enjoyed reading about Rose. Really nice to read about a heroine who never got into trouble of any kind: not like most historical novels where you had to worry about what was going to happen next. With all that happened in one year, you could really make a series of books about Rose.

A woman read Walker Jackson's first book "That Neapolitan Furlough" He asked her did you like the read? She said, "I loved it. It has everything."

Mickey Stroda a published author of vampire stories like her "Blood Ties" posted this at my publisher's Web Site. "Everyone should have at least one copy of ALL of Walker Joe's books. They are a wonderfully entertaining read. Walker Jackson did a wonderful job on this book. He brought the characters alive for me. When Hackney is being Estelle McHenry, you want to roll on the floor laughing. This book made me laugh, cry and just about every emotion in between. Wonderful book!! Keep up the good work Walker. She and her Mom have read every word I've written.

Molly Martin published author and prolific reviewer said, "Walker Joe Jackson is a tongue in cheek author who has managed to put together nearly every cliché ever heard in a fine romp of a well written highly readable work.

Joyce Lavene of Rhapsody Magazine said in her review, "Walker Joe Jackson is an inventive writer with a strong edge for story telling. His voice is dry and his observations are witty. His PI, taking on the guise of Estelle to catch his man, was ingenious."

Author friend said, "Jackson paints a vivid picture of New Orleans, giving the book an extra character and terrific flavor. His PI is well drawn, and unforgettable. I await more of Jackson's books, and I recommend this book for an easy and light read. Slip into a cozy chair and jump into Hackney's world.

Tennis aficionado and designer of tennis software Kjell Peterson said, "I just read the beginning of the New Orleans story, and I can't wait to read the continuation. You are a great storyteller! Two days later he emailed and said, "First of all, I would like to tell you that I finished reading your book, and I really enjoyed it. The story is exciting and you describe the various locations and people very vividly. I also liked the language you use - is this your normal vocabulary, or do you do a lot of research? What about the clichés? Did you make them all up?" Kjell Peterson

Molly Martin had this to say in a radio interview. She was asked: Are there any other writers or authors that you would like to mention? Her answer: "Christine Spindler the German writer I mentioned of course. Her work is very good. I particularly enjoy reviewing for William Manchee, Rolland Love and Walker Joe Jackson because they are writers in the Mark Twain/Ellery Queen vein….. excellent story tellers who do not rely on graphic language or sex to cover up a weak story line.

"I'm about half-way through BLOOD TRUST and I'm enjoying it thoroughly! While I didn't find McTrite as engrossing -- as I'm not much for the genre -- it, too, was well-written. The very idea of Blood Trust is interesting, and you capture the characters well. Keep up the good work; it's obvious that you truly enjoy writing. Best, Mike. Red beans and ricely...
