Book two is almost finished...

Winter had once again returned to the lake, where Paddle Tail lives, and the beavers’ valley had turned into a winter wonderland. Parts of the beaver lake were already starting to freeze over with a layer of thin ice.
Paddle Tail was always the first beaver up in the morning, sending his regard to everyone. His tail had still not grown through the winter, but the broken piece of canoe paddle that his father had hooked up to his tail stump, was still working perfectly. Paddle Tail’s Mother and Father (George and Sarah) decided that Paddle Tail should still wear his tail cover, though, because of the tremendously loud noises that his wooden tail made without it.
This was a very busy time for the beavers. They had to keep their openings on the lake's surface, above their entrance tunnels, from freezing over. If the openings did freeze the beavers would be stranded on the ice, and would not be able to enter the safety of their homes. Their rooftops were also covered with fresh snow, and the smoke, coming out of their stovepipes, sent a sweet aroma of fresh burning cherry wood into the air around the lake. Nighttime was beginning to fall across the valley, and the beavers had all settled in for the night...Continued in book.
