Time Flies - Blue's Blues
10/7/2007 5:45:09 AM

I tend to use my blogs for whining. I wish I'd STOP. Bet you do too. lol
This will be an update on my life.

My father, who had a serious stroke in March, is still hanging in there. We really thought he was going to die, this time. This is his second major stroke- first one was about 21 years ago. However- he is an incredibly tough man (which makes him a really BAD patient). I mean- you would probably be impressed, actually. He made the Marlborough man cry. And I don't mean he's just an old asshole. He is very intelligent, and tends to waft away the brown veil of bullshit, but still knows how to be polite. So- now it is October, and he is starting to make some really noticable recovery. He is now able to stand up, and he can walk a little with a 'walker' (walking support frame aparatus). And, I am hoping that soon he will be able to walk his ass over to where my sister is sitting and smack her upside her stupid head. Because she has turned out to be an incredible bitch through this whole life event with my father. While she has been there at his side every minute that she could afford- she has also been making all kinds of moves with his money and property. I, personally, do not think he is going to die. I think he will live for another five to ten years. It was interesting to get a glimpse of what we can expect from the sister. Who is a money grubbing, gold digging, back stabbing bitch, btw.

Since I left my job with a certain Texas Top 100 contractor a few (3) years back (they laid me off when they found out I was a lesbian), I have been back in the corporate grind. I have worked for all of the biggies in oil and gas. I am working for a really big one, now. I work downtown, about six blocks from home. And, I make 20,000 more a year than I did working for the dork Texas contractors, and get courted daily to MOVE MOVE MOVE. I could make tons o' money. I already make tons o' money. I am not a big money spender. But I could make twice as much if I were willing to travel. Let me tell you- I have had enough corporate travel. Angola and Perth were enough for me. I like my office. I like my parking garage. I like working for a company that barely notices me. Just let me manage the info. I can set your satellite up from here.

My girlfriend now lives with me. This has been an adjustment. I have lived without a relationship for about 7 years. My house has never been empty, however. I always have a house full of young people. I do not know why. I just do. So- while I say I am 'alone' - I'm not really alone, because I have a house full of college students who visit my daughter, and the attention of young people who have lived with me and that I have taken care of for years and years, who come back to visit (because I am 'MOM" to 13 people, besides my own), and stuff. I grew fond of being 'alone', though. Without the demands of a relationship.

But, I love my girlfriend. She is the best person I have ever known. She accepts my "tribe" as she calls them- and the "tribe" accepts her. So- I am learning to do the relationship "thing" again. She is an english professor at a major university. She is awesome. We have big fun. We went to see Lily Tomlin last night! That was GREAT!

Those of you that read my poetry might remember a poem I wrote called "Boundaries". I wrote that poem after I had a very serious confrontation with my daughter's boyfriend. I am so happy to report that we worked through all of that, and he is back home, now. I love him. He is awesome. And, he has a GREAT job now, that he LOVES! lol. And CJ only has 7 more classes until she gets her bachelor's. yay!

Well- that's really about 'it'. Wishing everyone well!
