Do Flowers Grow In Fallujah?
11/9/2004 11:53:57 AM
Introducing new web site: http://www.thewarpresident.com/
Do Flowers Grow In Falujah?

There is no limit to our generosity. We sacrificed our human and financial resources to liberate the citizens of Falujah from one of their few remaining hospitals this time.

Being the doubting Thomasina, I couldnít visualize the surviving citizens of Falujah rushing forward with flowers and love for our military, but Iím told it was a necessary and moral attack. The survivors will appreciate it in the long run. After all, how could we possibly guarantee safe, honest elections in Iraq if we didnít kill everyone who might vote the wrong way or, heaven forbid, try to stop the right people from getting to the polls?

This attack ought to improve our reputation in a world that lived in fear of the danger that hospital represented. Mothers in red states and blue states alike will put their children to bed tonight without so much as a thought of some escaped patient sneaking in to drop blood on the clean carpets, or an explosion from an outdated oxygen canister in Falujah shaking the world. Mothers in Falujah wonít have to worry about a midnight trip to the emergency room because theyíll be clutching their children to their sides. We have everything under control.

As a bonus, our morally mandated cult members have bragging fodder for the next election cycle. We saved the women from burquas and the world from Falujahís evil hospital, and only days after Doctors Without Borders Pulled out in fear.

Donít get me wrong. My panties are not in a wad. My heart may be, though.

I leave you with the one thing I know for sure, and two haunting questions (Iím sure Iíll have more when the shock and awe wears off). For sure, absolutely, positively, without a shred of doubt, I will never understand or approve this administrationís version of morality.

Now for the questions. Do flowers grow in Falujah? Will they ever grow there again?
