I'm Not In the Mood

In our own defense it seems we must always start a rant with a brief explanation or justification of how we are normally polite, understanding, and attentive, etc...
Well I’m not making any excuses this evening; I’m not in the mood.
I’m sure everyone knows a narcissistic soul sucking self centered type.
If you don’t then you may not understand my frustration.
If you are one, I doubt you’ll recognize this really is all bout you.
These particular ones call you up or drop by to gloat over all of their accomplishments and adventures without so much as the decency to pretend they care how you are doing. They revel in comparing pass port stamps and port of calls, fashions and finances- knowing I have little to compare to. Maybe they don’t know being as they never let anyone else talk?
With such a one sided conversation I wonder why they don’t just talk to themselves?
I guess every performer needs an audience or a warm ear with a grinning bobble head to agree how fabulous they are.
If by chance you are not wooed by their worldly travels and expensive gear then they’ll tell you all their woeful stories. OMG I’d rather pretend to be wooed.
Too make a long rant short [because the hot flashes could make this go on for days] I’ll get to the point.
Well, its midnight and I have forgotten the point……………………………………… and now I’m not in the mood.
