2011 Already? 1/2/2011 12:27:23 PM mental meanderings well, I am here and another year has passed. It is amazing. I never imagined 2011 would arrive. Now I am sitting here thinking about 2012 and the esoteric meanings that have been the subject of so many different books and articles. I have a new job writing for a woman interested in the Feng Shui school known as Black Hat Feng Shui. It is a little different from the other types I am used to so I am having to adjust my subject a little to suit her topic. I have been reading the ARE magazine that I just got and it seems to be all about the esoteric changes that are supposed to begin soon and culminate in 2012.
Will the world be totally different when we wake up on that morning after the date on the Mayan calendar has passed? Will the world come to an end? No, I don't believe it will. I think that the changes will be so small that we may not even notice them at first. Those of us who are really invested in trying to be more spiritual may not notice the changes at first.
It cannot be a coincidence that the Mayan calendar ends on that date but it also can't be a coincidene that the Chinese calendar goes much further than that. I believe the Chinese civilization has a little bit longer history so I am going to go with their calendar and not try to liquidate everything before 12/21/2012.
The Chinese have always been very spiritual even though they have not always been particularly religious people. They rever their ancestors and they have many beliefs that even we in the west use all the time (astrology, IChing, Feng Shui). I have decided that the longevity of the Chinese civilizations calls for another look at some of their internal beliefs...so I bought a book on Chinese astrology, reviewed my Feng Shui, and have decided to check out the I-Ching again.
2011 is a little more than a new year. It is a new beginning. This year we are going to see a difference in our political world. Regular citizens are going to demand that their so-called representatives do what they were sent to do instead of what they, themselves, want to do. We are going to insist on smaller government and less spending. We hope to see our nation going back to a right to work nation. We want all people to have whatever they can earn...but we want them to work for what they get. We have no right to take other people's money and spread it out among those who don't work. Our nation has always been about ability to be anything a person wants. Let's get back to that instead of punishing those who still work hard. Our country does not have a extra money to give away. We should not have all those programs that just waste money on "special" projects. It is just a legal way to buy votes within the government itself. We hope that 2011 will be the beginning of conservative government returning.
In any event, it is a clean slate for us to write on. Let's hope what is written is memorable.
