Teaching 10/16/2007 1:28:37 PM to follow up on my teaching poem-thought i would share a bit of a day--Before teaching reading had a heart to heart with an eighth grade student about hygeine and cleanliness as his odor is pretty bad. Read Indian in the Cupboard with them-helped stir imagination of favorite toys we would like to make real. Between the next two periods had a mediation with two girls who were ready to fight. For laquage arts they are writing stories-one is about her life-so hard to read i fight back tears. In Math, they are so excited-the concept of long division is taking hold and we had free time. For social skills we play Monopoly--learn how to take turns, etc..one student gets mad and leaves in a huff!Gym-My newest student makes it around the bases and leaves the game to tell me how excited she is
