It's all about family

Once we were just two
Once we were just two, a boy and girl in love.......
This is a big year for Bill and me, when we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We didn't want a party for it, but the confession was made today by Sue. They are planning a party...she even told us the date. Imagine that! We thought just a family dinner in a restaurant would be a great occasion. It's never happened before.
Well, I guess we're just too late. We'll have to grin and bear it.
We have 5 wonderful "kids" if you can call people in their forties kids.
Sue might be called the head instigator, or at least the head planner. Cindy's oldest, but she lives 500 miles away. Carol's in town and Billy not far away; Amy's an hour away. It's not too hard for the 4 of them to actually get together; just takes a little juggling of their various schedules.
Grandchildren? Sue has 5 younguns; the rest each have two. Our first darling baby grandson is now 24. What a shock when I think about it. I remember falling in love with Jimmy in the hospital where he was born. He looked up into my face and said, "Hi, Grammy!" Well, not exactly, but that kid looked so intelligent I wouldn't have been surprised if he had talked!
No, I'm not prejudiced...
Each and every one of the grands is a unique person. For instance, tomorrow Wesley will be in the Choral Concert in his high school, where he's a Junior. He'll be singing a solo, one of the songs he will sing in the Class Play. Strangely, he has the same role as Jim had when he was in his class play in another city, where they lived then. Nicely-Nicely, one of my favorite characters.
William just joined the Boy Scouts and is taking a CPR class tonight to earn his first badge. Haley is filling out an application for summer work at a Christian Conference ground.
Chelsey will graduate High school this year, and Jon college. I'm so proud of them, each and every one, Bradley, Matthew, Katie, Ferdinand, Aaron, Alexandra
I need to pray more for them all. Life is so full of pitfalls and temptations that can scar and hurt.
I love them to pieces! and the most amazing thing to me is that they love me. It's all about family!
