This new, amazing technology was the answer . . .
There are lots of things I am passionate about in life, but lately, I can't stop talking about Amazon's KINDLE. It's a new wonderful technological reading device that is about the size of a paperback book, yet very thin and only weighs 10.3 ounces. You can create your own library as it house over 200 books, plus there is a SD memory card slot allowing the ability to store hundreds of books. If that's not good enough, Amazon hosts all your ebook buys forever, making them always available to download again and again to your KINDLE! You can purchase subscriptions to newspapers, magazines and have them before the newsstands open! Wake up and the latest news is waiting on your KINDLE... You can buy books wirelessly without a computer any time, any where! You receive them wirelessly, instantly, within one minute... THIS IS AMAZING TECHNOLOGY! Okay, maybe I have went too far and this sounds like a free commerical for Amazon. That certainly was not my intention. However, my blog is about many things including sharing the great things in life. Right now I am elated about my KINDLE.
WHY this KINDLE hype? I am a avid reader and as I have grown older, holding books have become more cumbersome. I suffer from carpal tunnel plus I have serious finger joint issues (in denial that it's arthritis). Further contributing to the loss of reading enjoyment, my eyes have aged and I now need larger print. This device is light and it has six font sizes. The third font size is large enough for now, however, should my eyes continue to deteriorate with aging, there are still three larger font sizes! Also, I no longer have to drive to Palm Desert for a book, nor do I fear the book will be sold out. Yep, that's right, I save on gas, time and I even save a few trees in the process <wink>.
The Amazon KINDLE sold out within 5.5 hours of it's debut in November 2007. Since then, Amazon can't produce them fast enough and they are backlogged on orders. No wonder, it just too easy to enjoy reading and creating a library at your finger tips. There are so many more features too numerous to share, including the MP3 features , the ability to take notes, highlight word and hit for dictionary, encyclopedia, bookmark pages, create files, load documents in it and much, much more.
Although the Amazon KINDLE is rather pricey ($399), it was worth it to me to get one. This amazing device makes it all so easy and wonderful. By sharing this information, I hope it helps to provide a new option for those who have lost the enjoyment of reading because of various circumstances. Although I share this with you from an enhancement perspective, make no mistake this is the new trendy technology of today's and the new way of reading and enjoying books. Feel free to write if you have any questions . . . This is a very transforming technology for me. Life is good!
