I feel like doing a Midsummers Night Dream. After all it is the midsummer and how long will the Cubs be in 1st?
Any of you people know where amateur actors are performing a Midsummers Night Dream for free for any bystanders who want to see? There must be some parks out here in LA somewhere. I want to do some real acting. I'll talk to some of my struggling actor friends and see if they're interested. Real old fashioned entertainment. I want to be Puck or Ophelia. I'm tired of getting cast for movies where I have to say a word that starts with F or S or B every few lines. I'm tired of getting cast in a movie or TV show where half the movie is sex and blood. I mean Shakespeare may be a little complex with all the Old English but I'll still take all those thees and thoughs and thines that you see in a Shakespearean play over all the Fs and Ss and Bs that you see in a modern American movie any day.
I have no idea what was going on in the new Bourne Identity Film. People just running around shooting each other and another guy being an acrobat jumping about a hundred feet from a wharf into the water.....
The movies of the new millenium are so bad that......
there's more entertainment watching the people talk and mingle at the theater than watching the movie. The movies of the 00s are so bad that there's far more entertainment going to the concession stand. The movies of the new millenium are so bad that sometimes you want to go just to see the previews of the terrible movies coming up or watch a silly commercial (remember tbe cell phone going off right before those 2 Chinese martial artists are about to wack each other?) than watch the movie itself. The movies of the new millenium are so bad that the only reason you go and pay 10-20 bucks during these hot sticky summer days or evenings is to get nice and cool because your air conditioning back home is on the fritz.
I'm at the point of actually watching foreign films as opposed to American films. At least some of the foreign films (especially those sophisticated French films) have a storyline to them. For French and German films since I kind of know those languages well I don't even have to look at the subtitles.
Retro groups of the past. The Police, Wham, and Blood Sweat and Tears (Absolutely love Painted Pony from around that Summer of Love Era).
40th anniversary Summer of Love trivia. Windy one of my favorite songs by The Association was made around that time and you Gen Xers and baby boomers remember a TV show called Petticoat Junction?
Sad to hear about that Minneapolis bridge collapse. Being from the Midwest I've been to Minny a few times, a real great city and prayers go out for those people.
Well since I've ranted and showed my displeasure about the Cubs back in June they've really turned it around. Must have gained like 10 games on the Brewers and they were in first place.....till yesterday. OK more than enough thoughts for now.
