From the Bloggin' Trail
11/9/2007 11:53:21 AM
My personal view on the world we live in today.
I CAN
Dorothy Krusky

My thoughts have been churning like butter, thickening in the texture of my beliefs. Hate is one emotion I hope will never become a part of me. I do not want to end up like the world that believes in hate for hate, I choose to believe in a world that comforts, that is sealed together by the foiled wrappings of love. It is because I can, that I maintain a life that forgives those who know no better, their lives corrupt, distorted by their absolution of truth.

You can pasteurize your thoughts. You do not have to choose to live a life full of anger, hate, and revenge. How did our world turn upside down? History tells us that over the generations power and greed have all become the focus of men seeking leadership at any expense. How is it that a right mind is able to round up citizens, living breathing human beings, herd them off and exterminate them without so much as a second thought? Is it fear that drives mankind to go to such extremes? What if anything, does this say about the measure of a man? When the innocent are bombed, maimed, slaughtered, you wonder about the madness of our world. It has become like butter left in the sun. It tries in vain to stay solid, but slowly melts away leaving saturated oils and other distasteful particles behind. Is that how our minds become when caught up in such madness? Does an evil act permit us to retaliate causing further distress in a world gone wrong? How can we justify ourselves when we become one of them?

Oh, you can choose to live in anger. You can choose to live with hate. You can choose to fight for all the wrong reasons. You can choose to follow a criminal path. You can choose to give up on the good of this world. You can choose any path in life you want, however it is the choice you make that produces the outcome of future generations. If we choose to kill because someone tells us to, or because of our religious beliefs, be prepared to pay the consequences. If we choose to rally against those who protect us, then once again we pay the consequences. It is easier for mankind to choose the wrong way, to fall astray, being lured in by convincing ideals. Minds become like the melted butter, they wait in earnest to follow the leaders of evil. Why do they not question the absence of such leaders? Is it worth it to be a suicide bomber? No one will know the outcome of their lives as they are not able to return to acclaim the praise from their leaders. I suspect the leaders have a full understanding as to how well produce the solid bricks of butter are churned and delivered. It doesn’t take long to fill the minds of the young boys and men with ingredients that will eventually rot the soul. It is these young people’s minds that are churned together as one, one cause, one reason, giving them no choice from right or wrong. This is simply not an option for them, therefore they CANNOT choose because they are taught no other choice. They simply believe there is something better waiting for them, so they give up their lives and take many along with them.

We live in a world where Communism still exists. There is a limited amount of choice given to the people, so long as it does not go out of the boundaries of what the country expects. Citizens live in a world where everything is dictated to them, they do not think for themselves. It is easier to follow than to be a dissident of their country. It will only lead to imprisonment, in some cases the people are never heard from again. Here we notice an underlining fear instilled in this environment. The, I can choice is limited to the people their freedom is reigned in under the government’s army regime.

How sad it is when a country lets thousands upon thousands of children die without so much as a simple medical exam. The children wilt away from starvation. These countries allow power and greed to over take the basic necessities for living. Elderly people are left dying along the roadsides. Genocide of a race of people happens without the world knowing. How can such hatred of people exist in human beings? There are those who say I can go and help. They try to make life easier for the millions of starving people around the world. They make a choice and sometimes that choice comes with a heavy price. The person is killed, a sign to outsiders not to get involved in our countries’ affairs. The justice is lost amoungst the fear of the very ingredients that make up the flavour of a beautiful country.

When the planes flew into the Twin Towers in New York City in the United States, total chaos broke out. A large portion of the citizens could not believe what had happened to them or why. The world looked on in horror. How could this happen? Why did so many innocent people have to die as a result of such a brutal attack on the towers? There are many questions we as citizens across the world will never receive, we can search, read, listen or believe what we’ve been told, but in the end the truth is not revealed. The emotions expelled from the world resulted in an immediate war on terrorism. Leaders gathered together, and like their forefathers they sought a plan of revenge. Troops were dispatched overseas, planted in the hot deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, families torn apart as Fathers, Mothers, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, friends and neighbors took heed to the call. For some it was a choice of commitment with the army. This was their freedom choice. Countries joined together in unity, the war on terrorism had begun.

Unlike the soldiers from both the First and Second World War the troops of today have emerged with bigger, better more powerful army artillery. The veterans in this day and age have seen the worst of living conditions, food rations and medical care done right on the fields. Today’s war has stepped up to a technology that was impossible to imagine back then. Why back in the First World War when the British rolled onto the field “tankers” the Germans were in complete awe of the large, monstrous machines. War back then held a certain form of respect there was a line that each country did not cross. As the Second World War came into effect hatred of certain races were chosen by a country and therefore to be eliminated. This became the largest reason for countries uniting once again. Young men signed up by choice, but little did they know the sacrifice they would make in doing so. These are the ones who deserve honour, for they went over to protect their homeland.

Each war churns up a butter that is well preserved, the ingredients are such that they hold the stick of butter together for a longer period of time. As a result, those back home are feeling the losses. The emotions of anger become the focal point. They want their loved ones back home. What about those fighting on the field? How does it make them feel when their country is split? Did those back home forget what the definition of a soldier was? Each one of our troops signed their names fully aware of what they were choosing to do. With this awareness comes a better understanding of whom and what they are fighting against. War is never easy, there are losses, and yes, losses that may not be necessary in this day in age. I CAN choose to honour ALL our troops whether I agree with war or not, this is my freedom of choice. Every human life counts and we must remember this as November 11th draws near.
People in general, no matter what their race, nationality, beliefs, or lifestyles are worthy of living a peaceful existence. Remember, it just takes one evil thought to create such hatred in the world.
