The Human Connection

There is power in the human condition.
I just started reading a book on writing short screenplays called "Crafting Short Screenplays That Connect" by Claudia Hunter Johnson. I mention this because in the first part of her book she brought about a revelation in my writing knowledge. There is an underlying cause to why some stories are so powerful emotionally. That is that they connect to our human side. Did you ever walk down a street and see some bag lady or a homeless family with kids? Right away your heart goes out to them because you connect to them in some human way. They have children that could be your own. Somewhere out there the homeless have parents too. What about a divorce in a family. That is another Crisis-Conflict-Climax with the human underlying connection or disconnection between families. Goodbye son-in-law or daughter-in-law.
