My Wife Latest Blog concerning abuse.
I just came back from good old Wal-Mart a few hours ago, and boy, let me tell you, I'm steaming mad. My daughter was also with me and feels exactly as I do. I'm going to be using a few little swear words in this blog, something that I wouldn't normally do as it's quite unnecessary, but this time it is, so excuse me. My daughter and I were shopping merrily in Wal-Mart. She wanted some sweat pants and I needed some blank DVDs. After we completed our shopping we leave. I wanted to get the local paper which is located in the little foyer part, outside of the main store, but still indoors. Now, as I go outside I see a man, woman and three kids standing there. There is a boy I would guess to be about six, a baby, probably about four months, and a little girl who looked about two. I stop to get the change to put in this machine, and I'm watching these people. I was actually wondering if they were going to step aside to let me access the paper machine as they were blocking it. The little girl starts to dance a little bit. I don't mean jumping all over the place, just sort of hopping form foot to foot. "Mommy, I'm cold" she says. The mother then proceeds to bend down to eye level with this child, gets about two inches from her face, and screams at the top of her lungs, "shut the f*** up and stop moving or I'm going to f***ing slap you." My daughter and I both looked at each other in disbelief. Poor little girl. She hadn't done anything wrong whatsoever and here is this woman screaming profanity at her. I looked at my daughter and said in a voice loud enough that the woman would hear, "that really pisses me off, what the hell is her problem?" I really didn't care if she said anything to me, I was ready to do battle. If she can scream at her child like that in a public place, she obviously doesn't care. She kept swearing at her, and truthfully I don't really know what else she was saying as I was so angry. Can you imagine what probably goes on behind closed doors. I know I should not get involved, but my heart went out to that little girl. You honestly could tell that she was an abused child. The mother and the guy, who didn't appear to be the father of these children, didn't pay me one bit of attention. The mother then says to the guy that she will be right back, and takes off with the little girl on a child leash. The girl had on a coat (not a very warm one mind you) but no hat, gloves, or anything else, and let me tell you it was probably about twenty degrees. Now, if thirty-two degrees is freezing, you do the math....it was REALLY cold. My daughter and I walk to the car, all the while trying to see where this woman is going with this little girl who is walking so quietly and obediently behind her mother, head down looking at the ground. They start walking up a little snow covered hill, and of course, the little girl slips and falls. "What the f*** are you doing" she screams again, "f***ing stand up." She then yanks the poor kid up with the leash. Oh my god!! At this point it would have given me great pleasure to run this abusive bitch over with my car...but obviously that's not a feasible option Then I'm thinking, should I call the cops and get her for child abuse? I didn't know what to do. Like I said, I was thinking horrible thoughts about what probably happens to that child when she's at home, not to mention the little boy and baby who were still in Wal-Mart waiting for her. I decide that I'm going to drive down the street to the closest parking lot and wait for her to walk by. I figure she'll most likely still be screaming at the kid and I can confront her from the safety of my car. Hey, she was a lot bigger than I am. I drive to the parking lot with my daughter and wait...and wait... No one shows up. I then go back in the direction I came from and see them still walking slowly. But then, for whatever reason, they turn and head back towards Wal-Mart. Why did she bring the little girl out in the cold in the first place? She could have let her stay in the store where it was a little bit warmer. I missed them, and I feel so bad. I know anything I would have said to her would probably have made no difference, but hey, maybe it would have made her think, even for a second, about what she was doing to that beautiful little blond haired girl. My god, I wouldn't treat an animal like that. I wish I had spoken up more in the store, but from now on if I see that sort of thing happen again, I will. I love kids and parents are supposed to protect their children, not abuse them. I'm sure this type of thing goes on all the time and all over the world, but it's still disturbing. All three of her kids will be in my prayers tonight
