Amnesiac Memoir 12/31/06

It's been an "interesting" year ...
January 28th saw the Texas incorporation of M-2/Match Two Mentoring Outreach. Imagine ME running a statewide thing involving prisons and churches! Learning experience for me, finding out that churches like to throw money at problems, but getting them to roll up their sleeves and work - is a whole 'nother ballgame. Ah well, we grow in spite of them.
Watched and participated in the second year's growth of Art With Words, the poetry quarterly. It was great when Debra J Harmes-Kurth started it, and it just keeps getting better and better. Big sigh of relief with the winter issue in the mail, and now comes the building of the spring edition. Three months is such a short time. Now Debra is out here in the Den (that lady poet never sleeps!).
And an old friend, Airial Krystal, introduced me to her sister, Jeanie Johnson, to help her develop her new site (The Best of Poetry) which will cater to published poets. Jeanie's poetic feats are well represented on the Google browser, and I think her site will rock!
And I still am not retired (been trying for 18 months) from this 40-year run in the hotel business. It's time to let the kids run the show, if they'll ever let me go. Huff!
Finally, giving myself a Christmas present, I fired up a site on freewebs.com ($15 per year for ad-free) which may become my own little online chapbook, music and pics on the poetry pages, with something for everyone. Hopefully also something for those who need offending (hey, that's what we writers do best). I'm calling it "Amnesiac Memoirs," a sort of tribute to "Memories of an Amnesiac," a great read from a lot of years ago. Such fun!
So everything is "becoming" and like Dai said in his poem, we are WAITING!
Like the ole Chinese curse says - which translates something like "May your life be interesting."
Ah soooooooooo ...
A happy and prosperous and loving 2007 to all of us.
