Do You Really??
9/5/2008 2:43:46 AM

Want To Have This

I've been politically quiet for a while but I am appalled at the very thought of Sarah Palin perhaps becoming president some day. You will find below the record of her very limited political experience. Is this really the person you want to trust your country to if elderly McCain should pass away during his term of office?

I am no left wing extremist, I do not support abortion but sometimes we are forced to weigh out all the issues and choose a path that may not be ideal or reflect all our values. John McCain may be pro life but is he going to flip flop on this issue too? We have no guarantee that he wonít. Even if a pro life president gets into office itís doubtful he will ever be able to reverse Roe versus Wade, even with right wing judges in the Supreme Court.

The war in Iraq is waging on and on, more of our soldiers are dying and Iraq is still not taking responsibility for her own country. It should be obvious to everyone now that McCainís diplomacy is a mixture of tuff guy bluff and threat of military power. Our military forces are already spread too thin, donít you think in this age itís time to learn how to negotiate through tense situations seeking more peaceful solutions than just yelling at the opposition and threatening to beat their collective asses?

And a clean campaign? Well McCain has run one of the dirtiest I can remember. The democratic candidate has been all but tarred and feathered and accusations that are totally ridiculous and unfounded have been leveled at him repeatedly. McCain runs a dirty fight and he will, like George Bush, run a dirty administration surrounded by yes men /women and mirrored images of himself.

He wants to impress the right wing with his patriotism and morality. While his sacrifice as a POW should be honored, his example as a moralist certainly is tarnished but the right wing seems to be able to ignore that in their frenzy to elect someone they think will reflect their values and give them moral reforms in government.

People in this country are suffering. The middle class is becoming a thing of the past. Frankly, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Do you honestly think a man who states that we are better off economically now than we were eight years ago and who owns so many homes he canít remember how many is going to care about the fact that we canít eat as well, we canít buy as much gas, our wages have decreased, our unemployment has increased, we can't afford to educate our children or go to the doctor when we're sick and we are losing our homes? And do you really think someone with a six year term as a mayor and not even two years as a governor is qualified to be president and commander in chief if McCain is no longer around?

Think about it. Sometimes we just have to choose a path that might not perfectly reflect all our values to avoid falling in the ditch....again.
