Transfering some blog entries from a blog I'm deleting at another site.

Some days life seems larger than life and deep inside a fire of joy burns and threatens to break out and devour all the sadness around you. Some days, the magic of the universe reveals a portion of itself, capturing the eyes of your imagination, saturating the contours of your spirit with rapture. On those days, the pain you have endured seems distant, insignificant and it feels as though the flesh that holds you earthbound has melted away, leaving you with only the vital essence of who you are and a pair of wings to escape all that has conspired to keep you from that realization. Some days you are just thankful to be alive and to know that death is not the end.

Dancing to the music invaribly brings payment to the piper. When you have made someone's life miserable, disregarded their privacy and feelings, with your deceits...small or large and your repeated power plays, dancing like a prima donna or don juan to the music of their distress; be assured payday will arrive. The time of your power-dance and your influence will end and your fees for the use of the music will be exacted publicly. Someday the door to the ballroom will be bolted and the key thrown away, while you stand outside and whine about injustice and forgiveness in a pitiful voice no one listens to. Karma is not just a weak, toothless myth.

FREEDOM... to live and let live.

What a huge relief it was to me when I finally realized years ago that I am not obligated to carry the weight of the entire world on my frail shoulders, nor am I responsible for what anyone may do with the information I give to them. What I am responsible for is above all, being true to myself, not bending as a reed with every harsh wind that blows against my mind and emotions. Speaking the truth as I see it and then resting the results with a higher power. This brings a freedom that some will never know for they have allowed themselves to feel that the truth they give must be accepted and adhered to in order for them to feel personally fulfilled and to accomplish their purpose on Earth. Our purpose is not to do, but to be and in our being we serve the Creator's plan and influence those we are destined to influence. In simply being, expressing our truth but not attempting to force others to see or accept it, we become a reflection of the Creator who offers wisdom but never violates the free will of man. This simple concept brings a delight and freedom from the pressure of feeling we must struggle to be heard and to "Accomplish" some self appointed goal in order for our lives to have an impact on others. With this realization comes the ability to allow others to embrace their own truth and to withstand the pressure to abandon our own. Truth is unfathomable and those who feel they have all of it are sadly deluded. At best each of us only owns a tiny spark of it and we apprehend only a minute fraction of what is true and real so it would behoove us to listen to all aspects of thought, discarding what we find false, holding to what we find to be true not only within our intellect but with the core of our souls.

On Friendship - 6/23/2004 5:17:44 AM
What Does It Really Mean?

I believe there are many levels of friendship, from pleasant acquaintance to the depths of lives and souls shared. There are certain limitations in all relationships, lines that need not to be crossed. First of all, friendship requires honesty on the part of both parties, anything less can only maintain a superficial relationship that will never stand the test of time or adversity. Secondly there must be mutual respect and admiration. Each person’s uniqueness and their autonomy must be cherished. True friends uphold each other and do not endeavor to impose their will or thoughts on each other or demand changes in order to give love and respect . I have had few friends that were close enough to be one in soul with, but when it happens it is the most precious and nourishing experience in life. A “Friendship” that is a burden, rather than a joy is not a true friendship. Real love uplifts, never casts down, it believes the best, lends support in times of trouble or weakness, encourages greatness, and when it doesn‘t understand…it trusts.

Not a chance, if I gave up my political views other things would be found that I would be disliked for, like spiritual views, moral or religious standards, refusal to become someone's silent doormat.

So since I can't please some of the people any of the time, I'll keep saying... the way to peace is not found through the door of war. The meshing of opinions is not accomplished by trying to force one's views on another and calling them names when they refuse to see things your way.

It's the blessed time of peace of earth good will toward men. Not war everywhere and hate indulged. The Jesus whose birth we celebrate was no wimp but he certainly was no war monger. He is the one who when confronted by the old testament law that stated an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth replied, "But I say unto you, love your ememies, do good to then that hate you and persecute you. He also said, if your ememy hunger feed him, if he thirsts give him to drink and if you live by the sword you will die by the sword. He never said to kill and maime them all in the name of righteousness.

It seems so strange to me that some who proclaim their total allegiance to him and his ideals are the most forceful voices for continuance of this bloodshed, called a necessay war.

If we really want to fight the war in Iraq, why don't we draft all the ivy league sons and daughters of politicians who support the war and send them to fight it, better still let's send their parents with them. Wonder how long the war would be "Necessary" then?

Some I used to have respect for, I no longer do. Some I used to read everyday, I no longer read for I know before I even open the page there will be attacks on me or others and so much of it about things they don't really understand. Assumptions and slander have taken a big toll here lately. Some things are not worth a tear or a wound to the heart, So I will just give my eyes and my heart a rest and in case you are writing any of those nasty things for me, sorry to disappoint you but I won't be reading them.

Some of our Virginia boys are coming home this week from Iraq. Their parents, wives and children are receiving an early and unexpected 3'x6' present wrapped in red, white and blue. All of their dreams and hopes extinguished at the wrong end of a madman's bomb. Will they be glad they gave their support now to this administration's war? Will they think the lives of those they loved being snuffed out was worth it. The madmen's bombs will keep coming and the sons, husbands and fathers will continue to die. If it was your son, husband, father how would you feel about your flag wrapped Christmas gift?

I think it's time to say once again, I am against the war in Iraq, I am not against anyone who is in the armed services and who is responsibly doing what they are ordered to do. The last blog I wrote was not, as I was accused of doing, written to devalue or trivialize the loss of anyone who died or lost loved ones in the service. It was to draw attention to the fact that this war is not worth these great sacrifices, not to demean anyone. I pray each day for our soldiers, I cry for those who die and their loved ones.

I am amazed that some of those who continue to demean those who are against the war, want to proclaim themselves patriots, religious leaders, peace lovers. I have been called, anti American, ugly American, despicable and a liar, a bitch, dumb and ignorant and Christian hater by some of these people, authors here! Does that sound peaceable to you?

Think about who and what you align yourself with. Just because I openly say I am against the war in Iraq does not make me any of those names I've been called nor does it reflect on any of my other spiritual or political views. Some of those who espouse this war so emphatically seem to be the war mongers to me.

I have no problem with anyone expressing their views, spiritual or political or any other even if they are directly opposed to mine but what I have a problem with is all the personal name calling and hate they seem so free to throw around while pretending to be the injured parties, just because someone has expressed a view contrary to theirs.

Some people look like such easy marks in the games people play. They appear too gentle, too peaceful to ever consider they might bite back. I took my little toy poodle, Joli, to be groomed recently. Joli weighs about two pounds and is the cutest little black fluff ball imaginable. She is docile and loving. It took two big adult groomers to hold her down...don't let appearances fool you.
