City of Gardens Sparking Interest From the Media
2/16/2009 4:43:47 PM
I just sent out media kits last week and the media is already biting. I had a telephone interview with a local radio station this afternoon and I have a TV interview on Friday. The community newspaper is working on a follow-up story on me and the city paper also seems to have some interest.
Me and my supporters worked very hard on this project and the media has taken notice. This attention in combination of a of a perfectly timed advertising campaign just couldn't get any better.
If you plan to publicize your book, send out media kits immediately. Start at home. Focus your attention in your city that will have the most interest in your project. A solid and simple plan is the most effective.
By the time the time of the book release, thousands of people would have at least heard about the "City of Gardens: The Other Side of the Fence'. The advertisement is the frosting on the cake.
I can see the day when this book makes it debut on March 1st. The autitorium is expected to be packed and perhaps have coverage from the media. The timing couldn't be better. The news is hitting the public two weeks before the launch building up anticipation among the Victoria people.
There are a lot of great people in this city and with the proper information and a gentle push, we can be successful in housing and supporting 1,550 people in five years.
I believe fully that this book will be instrumental to promote change in our city. I don't expect everyone to agree with it and I am counting on that. I want to provoke dialouge between governments, the system and the people. I can take my bruises, the important thing is that there is an open communication that may develop because of this book.
I would then call that success. Love me or hate me, at least they will talk and that was my intention right from the very beggining. To get some attention, you have to scream and stomp your feet. You may not like my method of delivery, but I got your attention. That's when you lay out your message.
This book release will set the pace for the rest of the five year campaign. We have to explode that night and put our best foot forward.
This is an important time in Victoria's history. March 1st, Victoria will talk and the world will listen.
