Book four is starting to shape up well. It's already longer than any of the first three, and I'm just beginning to move into the climax. I'm guessing it will probably end up topping 500 pages, which would be a real difference from the others. I still have people bugging me about when it will be finished, so at least there's a built-in audience waiting for it. Now, if I could only mutiply that by about ten thousand, I'd be in business.
The next project is going to be to turn The Scent of Magic into a screenplay and see if anything develops from that angle. They would make excellent films, especially if they are handled well-like LOTR was. That should keep me busy until I'm ready to start Book Five. I'm thinking right now that there will be nine books, but that could change depending on how the books are received, and how interesting the characters remain to me. So far, I'm enjoying working with Rolf, Elena, Dark, and all the rest, so nine seems very doable.
